Dolphins shift focus to Gombe United after defeat to Rangers
The Pride of Rivers’ coach says they will be focused on next home game against the Savannah Scorpions, following their unlucky midweek defeat to the Flying Antelopes in Enugu
Eguma, whose men suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat in Enugu on Wednesday, insists his players were unlucky not to have returned to the Garden City with at least a point.
Osaguona Ighodaro only needed 10 minutes to grab his 14th goal of the season as leading goalscorer, before Tijani Adamu leveled up in the 63rd minute for Dolphins, while Christian Obiozor sealed the winner in the 70th minute for Rangers.
“We prepared to win or at worst pick a draw but it was quite unfortunate that we couldn’t,” Eguma told media at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, Enugu after the game.
“All was well until the ending part of the game when the referee gave a penalty against us and I really do not think that was a penalty,” he continued.
“But we won’t let this one match pull us back as we will continue to strategize for other games and we will recover from [Wednesday’s] loss,” he noted.
